Insider is to host a special online panel and audience debate looking at what SMEs need to do to achieve growth in the coming months and years.

As the nation looks towards its recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, the South West region, mercifully one of the English regions least impacted by the virus, is set to lead the recovery phase for the UK. The South West’s SME community, with its focus on highly skilled jobs and innovation will be at the heart of this kick-starting of the UK economy.

Insider will bring together a range of business leaders from some of the region’s key small to medium-sized business as well as business experts from the region for a question and answer-style audience debate to examine the opportunities for SMEs to grow in the months ahead. We will discuss a broad range of issues facing growing SMEs – from the options around financing growth, to finding the right commercial space and building successful teams to power continued growth.

The event, sponsored by Mogers Drewett and Growth Lending, will feature Emily Kent of One Big Circle, Chris Ormrod of The Flavourworks, Sammy Masourpour of AgencyUK, Lauren Couch of Growth Lending and Tom Webb of Mogers Drewett.

David Clensy, editor of South West Business Insider, who will chair the discussion, said: "There is a lot to discuss in what promises to be a fascinating hour of debate, focusing on key goals and driving the region back on to the road to recovery.

"We will explore how businesses can innovate to recover from this period of economic stagnation, and build their resilience in the months and years ahead. We’ll also hear how the advisory community can be key to powering the continued growth of the region’s most successful SMEs."
